Efforts will be made to minimise disruption to occupiers and visitors to Oxford Street:

• Pedestrian and vehicular access will be maintained at all times, some areas of footways may be reduced in width in places while the works are underway
• The majority of the works will take place between 8 am and 6 pm Monday to Friday and 8 am to 1 pm on Saturdays. Some carriageway works may however be undertaken at night to ensure the fastest completion time possible and minimise works duration outside businesses. No excessive noise will occur before 8 am or after 9 pm
• Works will be programmed so not to coincide with any special events
• Footway works will take place in sections and carriageway works will be undertaken in two phases; between Newman Street and Tottenham Court Road and then between Wells Street and Newman Street
• Traffic diversions will be in place during carriageway & central island works for up to 7 weeks. Eastbound traffic will be temporarily diverted off Oxford Street at either Newman Street or Regent Street on a 24 hour basis. Westbound traffic will be maintained along Oxford Street East between Tottenham Court road and Oxford Circus at all times. Side roads adjoining Oxford Street will be closed as required.
• Buses and taxis will continue to operate along Oxford Street though bus stops may be temporarily relocated while the works are taking place.
• Safety is of upmost importance and the contractor undertaking the work will adhere to the City Council's Code of Construction Practice, (CoCP).
• Every attempt will be made to minimise the duration of these works.
