Project Type: Major Projects

The Piccadilly Two way Scheme Part 1 saw the existing one-way working in Pall Mall, St James and Piccadilly convert to two-way working as well as other public realm improvements along Piccadilly, Piccadilly Circus and Pall Mall. The scheme saw the area benefits from improved pedestrian crossings, street clutter reduction, greater footway space and improved street lighting. The cost of Piccadilly Two Way Part 1 was £12.5million.

The P2W Part 1 scheme was successfully completed in November 2011 within budget.

Piccadilly 2 Way Scheme

P2W Part 2 is now being developed and the current estimated cost is £8 million. The proposals will introduce similar public realm improvements to Haymarket, Lower Regent Street, St James's Street and Waterloo Place. The improvements to these streets will be in conjunction with the redevelopment and regeneration of St James's Market Area by the Crown Estate.

The Crown Estate, TfL and the City Council are supporting and jointly funding Part 2.
