Belgrave Square Pedestrian Crossing

Belgrave Square Pedestrian Crossing

Ward: Knightsbridge and Belgravia

Streets Affected: Belgrave Place, Belgrave Square

Project Type: Traffic, Safety & Parking

Project Overview

Local residents and Ward Members raised concerns regarding the lack of a formal pedestrian crossing at the junction of Belgrave Square and Belgrave Place as all other egress and exit of Belgrave Square already have a zebra crossing facility.

The City Council considered the concerns raised by residents and a proposal for a new zebra crossing was approved.

The main aim of the scheme was to improve the existing uncontrolled crossing but as part of the scheme the existing street lighting levels and drainage were also improved.
