Project Overview

The Grosvenor Estates in conjunction with Westminster City Council proposed streetscape improvements along Duke Street between Oxford Street and Weighhouse Street in order to enhance the pedestrian environment and the grandeur of this distinctive location.
    
The highway improvements included the following:

• Repaving of footways using natural stone materials;
• Modifications to the layout of the street with increased footway widths and recessed street parking and loading areas;
• Use of granite setts as surfacing in reorganised parking and loading bays;
• Resurfacing the carriageway with asphaltic materials;
• Upgrading street lighting;
• Enhancement of private forecourts.
