Project Overview
Westminster City Council has commissioned FM Conway Ltd, the City Council’s service provider, to carry out improvements within Devonshire Mews West.
By relaying the paving and carriageway, the works remove existing drainage problems and will be of significant benefit to the streetscape of the Mews.
The works are planned to be undertaken from the 5th January to the 31st March 2015. Normal working hours will be Monday to Saturday between 08:00 and 17:00 (13.00 on Saturdays if required).
Whilst we will take steps to minimize the impact on residents, some of the works will be noisy and access to properties will be restricted at times. Due the restricted access to the site our main compound for the delivery of materials will be based in Devonshire Place and smaller vehicles will be used to transfer material in and out of the Mews.

Outline Programme
Implementation 05/01/2015-31/03/2015. Each of the four phases will follow the same methodology. We will start by excavating the existing road and footway materials. We will then build up the road base and install new kerbs. Once the road base and kerbs are complete we will move onto the next phase and a gang will remain completing the footway setts. - Phase 1 - four weeks (final week overlapping with the next phase) - Affecting Properties 2 - 8, the parking bays in this area will be suspended and half the width of the carriageway will be closed off. - Phase 2 - four weeks - Affecting Properties 8-17, half the carriageway will be closed for works and vehicle access to properties will not be possible. - Phase 3 - four weeks (final week overlapping with the next phase) - Affecting Properties 27 - 35, the parking bays in this area will be suspended and half the width of the carriageway will be closed off. - Phase 4 - four weeks - Affecting Properties 36 - 40, the parking bay opposite this phase will be suspended to allow access in this area will be suspended and half the width of the carriageway will be closed off. - Phase 5 - 1-2 days. Following the final phase of works the final surface course will be laid in the Mews and any road markings laid. We have allowed one week in our programme as this operation is weather dependent. This is likely to stop access to the Mews for one day during the period of the works but this date will be communicated closer to the time.
