Waterloo Place Granite Sett Project

Waterloo Place Granite Sett Project

Ward: West End

Streets Affected:

Project Type: Streetscape

Project Overview

Westminster City Council has commissioned FM Conway Ltd, the City Council’s service provider, to carry out further improvements at Waterloo Place.

There is an aspiration to return Waterloo Place into a Square and make it a destination and space for the public to enjoy.  The plan is to replace the antiskid surfacing on the island with tri-colour buff granite setts, install bollards and chains to control parking and introduce new YorkStone on the footway section at the Duke of York Steps.

The works are planned to be undertaken from the 15th September 2014 to the 28th February 2015. Normal working hours will be Monday to Saturday between 08:00 and 17:00 (13.00 on Saturdays if required). A quite period (with no heavy digging undertaken) between 12:30pm and  2:00pm is proposed

Whilst we will take steps to minimize the impact on residents and businesses, some of the works will be noisy.  Access to premises will not be affected by these works but the islands will not be available for any other activities during the works.
