Project Overview

FM Conway, working on behalf of Westminster City Council, will be carrying out highway improvement works along North Wharf Road, Harrow Road and Dudley Street as part of the redevelopment of Dudley House.

Works will be implemented in 3 phases:

• Phase 1: North Wharf Road footway along the southern end of the development;
• Phase 2: North Wharf Road, Harrow Road and Dudley Street footways along the northern end of the development; and
• Phase 3: North Wharf Road carriageway along the whole extents of the scheme.

The improvements include the following:

• Widening and repaving the eastern footway of North Wharf Road in concrete paving flags;
• Repaving the southern footway of Harrow Road and western footway of Dudley Street in concrete paving flags;
• Resurfacing of the North Wharf Road carriageway in hot rolled asphalt;
• Changes to parking provisions to accommodate the new school drop-off/ pick-up servicing area;
• Introduction of a carriageway raised table in North Wharf Road to tie in with the new pedestrian area to be introduced by the 55-65 North Wharf Road development. This will reduce the traffic speed and improve pedestrian accessibility;
• Installation of 4 new cycle stands on North Wharf Road;
• Improving the surface water drainage along the whole extents of the scheme; and
• Upgrading public lighting.
