Project Overview

The Seymour Place Streetscape Improvements scheme forms part of the City Council’s Edgware Road Action Plan and aims to make the road more visible, legible, safer and pleasurable for residents, businesses and visitors to the area.

Improvements were made to Seymour Place, between Seymour Street and Upper Berkeley Street and were completed in January 2009.

Improvements included:

  • Repaving of pedestrian footways with high quality York stone paving;
  • Resurfacing the carriageway with Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA);
  • Construction of new raised table treatments at all junctions with fine picked granite setts;
  • Removal of unnecessary street furniture to reduce footway clutter; and,
  • Improved public lighting.
